Hello 2013!

Why hello 2013!  Where did 2012 go?  Sorry I have not updated in a while.  Things have been busy, especially with the holidays!

For Christmas, we traveled to Maryland (where my family is) for the extended weekend.  It was a very nice, relaxing trip and holiday.  The only thing that wasn't fun, was traveling home, on christmas day-evening.  :(  The trip to Maryland, took a record time of 4 hours and 45 minutes.  The trip home took probably almost 7 hours. :(  Esepcially with a sick Princess (she didn't take her allergy medicines while we were visiting), a very awake & uncomfortable 3 month old, a dog in her kennel in the back of the van surrounded by presents and luggage - packed full! And no leg room for whomever was sitting in the passenger seat.  The things we have learned from this trip are travel in the late evening when both kid's are fed, bathed and in their pajamas's, and we need to get a (BIG) SUV!  A minivan is no longer good for us.  The Hubber's is almost 6'7"+ and the kids are way over the height percentages for their ages. Every time the Princess fell asleep, Hubber's would put his seat back and she would wake up because she could hardly move.  :(

For New Years, we stay home and I was asleep before 10pm.  Which is very unusual if you know me.  I am a night owl, most of the time.  Always have been, which wasn't a bad thing when we traveled to Maryland.  That is when I get things done.  My Princess does not take naps easily, which is fine because that is when I get to spend one-on-one time with her is when the baby is sleeping.

Oh, and last but not least...my weight loss is coming along quite well! I gained a TON of weight when I was pregnant with my son.  I have since lost all that weight and now weigh less than when I first got pregnant with him!!  I had worked out and tried dieting and saw no differences :(  So when I was at my 6 week check-up for my c-section, my doctor prescribed me a temporary weight loss medicine.  It curves your appetite, and gives you energy! I have also been having some health problems and ask for your prayers.

The picture on the left is a picture of the day I started the medicine with my diet/exercising, 11/4/2012.  The picture on the right is of the progress thus far, 12/28/2012  :)

Early Christmas Present

We adopted a puppy from a rescue!  We've named her Mocha.  Miss S picked that name out because that was the name of her Uncle Brandon's dog that has recently passed away.  And she didn't understand the whole naming concept.  If it were up to her, the dog would have a new name everyday or she had wanted to call it "doggy" :)

Mocha is approximately 10 weeks old.  She is a Husky mix, we're not positive what she is mixed with but we are thinking Shepard.  She is very energetic when we are outside, but very calm and relaxed inside.  But that is because she had surgery a few days before we adopted her.  Little Miss S can't get enough of Mocha and won't ever let her be

Victory! & it continues..

It has been a month since I started my dieting/exercising and I am proud to say, I am down almost 15 pounds!  I feel lazy if I don't get up early to work out before my kid's get up too.  So after Mister C wakes up for his first bottle of the morning, I put him back in his bed and come work out! I am so proud of myself for the self determination I now have and the success!  I can and have been able to fit into my pre-pregnancy clothes!  I am not stopping just because I have reached my pre-pregnancy weight either.

I can't explain how much more energy I have and how good I feel about myself.  I have always been "obese" but never really exercised or dieted like this.  Now don't think I am only eating veggies and meat all the time.  I do eat them but I also have other things (no sweets or ice cream, etc) but I eat the right portion sizes, try to eat the right things, I don't over eat, I work out regularly, and I have determination.  For example, last night we had my husband's company's Christmas party.  I had dinner, which I couldn't even finish everything on my plate but I didn't load the plate to the rim with food either, and no dessert.  I am not even interested in dessert anymore or should I say what most people call dessert. :)

Thanksgiving & Prayers

We spent our first Thanksgiving in our new house, just the four of us, and it was wonderful!  Quiet, relaxing and yummy food!  I cooked for about 4 hours, the main course and desserts. The week before Thanksgiving, we spent it with my parents while they were visiting.  Although, the hubby had to work late due to a big derailment so he missed it.  But he did get lots of yummy left overs from my mom's awesome cooking.

And I had my little helper helping me almost the whole time. She did not have a nap that day until we were about to sit down at the table to eat.  She laid down on the floor and fell asleep, instantly!

On another note, dear friends of ours, Tammy & Tom, have been in and out of Duke Medical Center for their son, Connor. He has Mitochondrial disease amongst a few others.  You would not believe the things his parents go through day to day, hour by hour.  They are the strongest people I know!  Please, keep them in your daily prayers!  What some of us take for granted, they praise God for!

Busy little bee's

Well, we have been busy.  I feel like between the kids and myself, we are always at the doctors or the pharmacy.  We haven't been sick except once lately.  But, Miss S see's an ENT, I no longer have a doctor appointment coming up and Mister C is at the doctor's alot just because he is a newborn.

Mister C update :  He is now 2 months old.  He holds his head up, a lot (most of the time during "belly-time" and all the time when he's being held up).  He sleep's for 7-8 hours at night.  He is 16lbs and 26 inches long!  I know, a big boy - right?  Well he's not THAT big. He is only in the 98th and 99th percentile for his age of weight and height.  And another thing, I don't tell you how big (usually meaning fat) you or your kids are so don't come up to me in the store or doctors office and tell me how big my son is! :) [That comment is made for all those people who are daring enough to come tell me how big and chunky my little man is. ]

Miss S update :  She loves being a big sister and can not get enough of her little brother! They both adore each other!  Really, you should see the way he looks at her and carries a conversation with her! Adorable!

Mommy & Daddy updates:  Daddy still works, a lot but so blessed that he comes home every night and doesn't travel.  Mommy is on her second week of dieting, exercising and losing weight like a champ :)  Mommy's parent's are in town this week and the visit is going by way too quick!! :(
